What is a Speech-Language Pathologist?
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are trained professionals, certified by the American Speech and Hearing Assosication (ASHA). SLPs are trained to assess, diagnose and treat people of all ages who have communication challenges.
How does a Speech-Language Pathologist work on communication delays?
The therapists at Sparkling Speech Therapy value family-centered services that are functional and based on building a personal connection. Our therapists are clinically trained to target communication goals using current research models and evidence-based practices all while making sure everyone is having fun. Family members are highly encouraged to participate in therapy sessions to foster generalization of skills.
When should I be concerned about my child's communication skills?
A child of any age can have a speech or language delay. Please see the resources page for information regarding typical milestones in speech and language development. Children can be referred to Sparkling Speech Therapy by teachers, physicians, family members, or anyone concerned about the child's ability to communicate.
